Cayo Santa Maria is actually a small island 13 kilometres long and only two kilometres wide making for a pint sized tropical holiday destination. The nearest airport is in Santa Clara and you will have a bus transfer that will leave you at a causeway walk which takes you into the island on all inclusive Cayo Santa Maria holidays. The beaches on Cayo Santa Maria holidays are calm white sand stretches on the island’s north side. Although the island is not large the beaches cannot be walked across from one side of Cayo Santa Maria to the other because of jagged fossilised coral which blocks pedestrians’ paths. There are five beaches in total and the ones on the east side of the north coast can only be reached either by car, scooter or taxi.
