Being so near the capital on an all inclusive holiday in Ocho Rios is a brilliant excuse for a day trip but also means you have the luxury of being near Kingston airport.

Beaches

holidays in Ocho Rios are great for families and special events. Ocho Rios Bay Beach is the site of countless wedding celebrations and parties. It is disability friendly and has plenty of facilities including a shop for light bites and soft drinks, picnic tables and water sports equipment rental. The soft sand bay, also known as Turtle Beach opens at 8.30am until 4.30, which although perhaps not ideal for devout sun worshippers is still a great place to take a morning jog or stroll on your time in Ocho Rios.

Practical Information

A break in Ocho Rios puts you in a great location for seeing a bit more of Jamaica if you have itchy feet. Buses both to Kingston and Montego Bay cost an average of $4  to either destination which is an unbeatable price considering a taxi to Kingston costs $80 and a similar journey to Montego Bay is approximately $90. However, it is also important to consider taxis from Kingston and Montego Bay airports as being fairly useful on your Ocho Rios holiday if you are travelling with luggage. The main taxi firm in Ocho Rios is Juta and their number is 974-2294.

An all inclusive in Ocho Rios is brilliant for a more family friendly vibe, although it lacks the radiance of the beaches and scenery around the party town of Montego Bay.
